Alcohol Delivery Technologies, Ltd. d/b/a Alcohop (“Alcohop”, “us”, “we”, “our”) operates both the website Alcohop and the Alcohop mobile applications on Apple iOS (collectively the “Site”). This Privacy Policy informs you our our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of an Personal Information we receive from users of the Site in order to better enhance their user experience.

It should be noted that by using our products, software or services, regardless of whether or not the use is in connection with an individual account or not, by doing so you agree to the terms of this privacy policy. We ask you to review the following terms carefully so that you understand the privacy practices in place.

The Alcohop Service is not intended nor permitted for use by any individual under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18 you may not register an account with or use the Service. We do not knowingly collect any information about people under the age of 18, if it transpires that we have collected personal information from an individual under the age of 18 we will delete that information immediately unless it is requested by members of the Gardaí. Please read our Terms of Service Agreement for more detailed information about our means of verifying users' ages and the penalties for providing false age related information.


We do not collect any personal information from you unless you provide it voluntarily, via email, online form, contest entering, account registration etc. While registering to use the Service we require certain mandatory information from you in order to develop your user profile so as to customise your user experience. We collect and store actively entered and mandatory information such as, but not limited to:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Password
  • Last four (4) digits of your Garda Age Card and/ or Passport number
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Delivery Address
We may also collect consumer information such as products ordered and relevant promotional codes used along with delivery information such as alternate contacts, addresses and phone numbers in the event you are unable to accept a delivery.

We may also collect information about you through your interactions with our various social media pages, such as through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and/ or Pintrest. Any such social media platforms are owned by the social networks themselves and are subject to their terms and conditions and privacy policies, including cookies policies. If you do interact with Alcohop pages on third party social media platforms you are authorising Alcohop to collect, store and use, in accordance with this Privacy Policy any and all of the information that you agreed that the third party social media site could provide us through their Application Programming Interface (“API”). Such information may include, without limitation, your name, social media handle, profile picture, access token and email address.

All information we collect and/or receive is collectively called “Personal Information”.


In order to make the Alcohop Service as efficient as possible certain features and functionality use your location, or rather the location of the mobile device that you are using to browse and/ or make the order. We may therefore, with your consent, automatically collect Geolocation information from your mobile device, the network or wifi network that you are using and/ or certain third-party service providers. All of this information is collectively called “Geolocation Information” for the purposes of this Privacy Policy, our Cookies Policy and our T&C. We only collect Geolocation Information when the App is running on your mobile device. You may, of course, prevent us collecting Geolocation Information. However, please note that due to the nature of the Alcohop Service that means we will be unable to provide certain features and functionality to you which may include rendering you unable to place an Order.


In order to submit Orders to our Partner Off-Licences you will be required to submit additional information which allows your account to be charged. Please note that neither Alcohop nor any of its Partner Off-Licences store any of this information and that all payments pass through Stripe, our payments processor, another Irish company that is responsible for billions of euro in payment processing annually. This information may include a debit card number, credit card number, billing address and similar information. Together all of this shall be called the “Billing Information”.


Along with your Personal Information, your Geolocational Information and your Billing Information we may automatically collect information that relates directly to your activity on our Sites, your interactions with Alcohop on social media platforms and other forms of advertising we may see fit to implement. We may also collect information about the computer, tablet or mobile device that you are using to access our Sites. All of this shall be termed “Additional Information”.

For the purposes of illustration here are some examples of ways we gather information about you:

From your activity on our Sites:

  • Your IP address, which may either consist of a static or a dynamic IP address and will sometimes point to a specific identifiable computer or device.
  • Your browser type and the language settings.
  • URL's as well as referring and exit pages.
  • The date and time of your use.
  • Other details regarding your activity on our Sites, such as search engine queries and other performance and usage data.

From your device:

  • What type of device you are using.
  • The Advertising Identifier (IDFA or AdID).
  • The operating system on your device and the version of that operating system (e.g. iOS).
  • The network carrier.
  • Geo-location (see above).
  • The type of network you are using to access our Sites.

From Cookies:

Cookies are small files of text that our Sites can use to recognise you as a repeat visitor and better enhance your user experience. We may use both session cookies, which expire once you exit the site and browser, and/ or persistent cookies, which stay on your device until you delete them, along with other technologies to help us collect data to allow you to get the most out of the Site.

We may use cookies for various purposes but here are some examples:

  • To authenticate you as the user.
  • To optimise and personalise your experience.
  • To examine what parts of our Sites are visited the most frequently.
  • To measure and analyze the effectiveness of our advertising and promotions.

Please note that if you would not like Alcohop to deploy cookies in your browser you may opt out by setting your browser to reject cookies or to notify you when a website attempts to place a cookies in the software that runs your browser. If you choose to opt out of cookies by disabling them in your browser you may still access and use the Site but your ability to use some of the features of the Site may be affected.

From third-party analytics:

Alcohop compiles reports using third party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to review and enhance your use of the Sites via third party technology providers. These third-parties use cookies and other technologies to help analyze and provide us the data that we need. You consent to the processing of data about you by these third-parties in the manner and for the purposes that are set out in this Privacy Policy.

Please note that if you do opt out of any of these services you may not be able to use all the features of the Sites up to and including placing an order.

From you:

There are times when you will provide us with information voluntarily either though a direct email or via our social media pages. For example you might review a product or delivery and provide us with information that though from you, does not personally identify you.

From time to time Alcohop may share Additional Information (see above) about you with third parties for advertising distribution and optimization. These third parties may use cookies (see above) or pixel tags along with other technologies.

Pixel tags can also be known as “clear gifs” or “web beacons” and they allow us and these third parties to recognise a cookie previously placed on a browser when it visits the site or portion of the site, on which the pixel tag is located. This allows us and the third parties to learn which specific advertisement brought a user to a given site.

For example, if a company had placed advertisements on both Facebook and Google, and had seen an increase in the number of site visits they were receiving, the pixel tag allows them to tell which ones were from Facebook and which were from Google. This allows them to see where their advertising money is best spent.

We may also receive Other Information, in a similar way from companies that we advertise with and/ or their service providers such as IP addresses, post-conversion data and advertising identifiers.

Neither Alcohop nor any third party acting on our behalf employs any form of behavioural based advertising or targeting aimed at or in connection with individuals under the age of 18. Users under the age of 18 are not permitted on our Sites at any time.

For users of our Sites on iOs:

Go to your settings - select Privacy - Select Advertising - Enable the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting.

The use and sharing of your information.

By agreeing to this Privacy Policy you authorise us to use the Personal Information, Geolocational Information, Billing Information and the Other Information (which for brevity we will now refer to as the “Information”) to provide and improve the Service that the Sites offer to you; to fulfil your requests and Orders; to maintain your account; to run and manage our promotional competitions, rewards and other programs; to request and gather your feedback; to give you information about our products and/ or services and those of our Partner Off-licences and other partnering organisations and also for advertisement optimisation and to process your Orders.

We may share your Information with any member of our group, which means any subsidiaries we have now or may have in the future. We may share your information with carefully selected business partners, suppliers and subcontractors to aid the performance of any contract we enter into with them. In the event that we sell or buy any additional businesses or assets in which case we may disclose your Information to the prospective seller or buyer of such businesses or assets.

Alcohol Delivery Platforms, Limited d/b/a Alcohop or a substantial amount of its assets may be acquired by a third party, in which case Personal Information held will be one of the assets acquired.

Alcohop will co-operate fully with any legal investigation, if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with our obligations to the Irish Justice System, or in order to enforce or apply our T&C then we shall do so. We shall also disclose Information if it will protect the rights, properties or safety of Alcohop, our customers or others.

Should you attempt to gain alcohol via the platform unlawfully your personal information shall be forfeited to members of the Gardaí upon request as you will have broken the law.


All designated delivery drivers, although employees of the Partner Store completing the order, are required by the contract between the Partner Store and Alcohop to wear BodyCam’s (small, lightweight video camera devices) for the duration of their shift and to keep them in a constantly recording state for the safety and security of all involved.

This data recorded, which will include footage of your delivery and thus you, will not be held by Alcohop but rather by the Partner Store in accordance with the law and the Partner Store’s own data retention policy. Alcohop may be granted this data only if it is legally required to request it and if that it the case it must be submitted to Alcohop.


Your data will likely be stored within the European Economic Area (EEA), Alcohop will take all steps reasonable to ensure that your Information is kept secure and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Upon registering you will have chosen a password which gives you access to our Sites and our Service. This password is your responsibility and you are responsible for its confidentiality.

The transmission of information over the internet is not 100% secure. We acknowledge that although we will do our best to protect your Information, we cannot under any circumstances guarantee its security and thus the sending of any information is at your own risk. Once we have received your information however, we will use strict security procedures to try and prevent unauthorised access.


The Site may from time to time contain links to third party websites. Alcohop has no control over the content of these websites nor the privacy policies that govern them. Therefore we cannot be held accountable for said content or privacy policies. We would recommend that you check the applicable third party websites' privacy policies and terms of services upon visiting them.


Alcohop as a technology platform allowing the ordering of alcoholic beverages is not directed at children or young adults under the age of 18. If an individual does enter illegally and provides us with Personal Information then a parent or guardian of that young individual may contact us and request that such information be deleted from our records.


Any changes that Alcohop decides to make to this Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this webpage. By accessing the Sites after we make any such changes you are deemed to have accepted them. Please be aware that, to the extent permitted by applicable laws, our use of the Information is governed by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time that we collected the Information. We would advise all users to refer back to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis.
